Not to be confused with Joseph J Woolfson born 1898 the brother of Edward Woolfson. or with Joe Woolfson (b. 1912)
Joseph Woolfson (b 1892 - 1973 at 81 years old.[1]) Sometimes referred to as Joseph Woolfson 'Senior' on account of being some 6 years older than his relative Joseph J Woolfson, who was correspondingly referred to as 'Junior'. Joseph and his family mainly lived in the West Edn of Glasgow while Joseph Jr. mainly lived in the southside in Queen's Park and then in Eastwood.
Married Dora Woolfson (nee Jacobs) in 1920 [2]

- 1948 - appointed a member of the council of Garnethill Hebrew Congregation.[3]
- 1947 - MARRIAGES GABA — WOOLFSON. — At Garnethill Synagogue, Glasgow, on 23rd June, - 1947, by the Rev. Dr I. K. Cosgrove and the Rev. I. Hirshow, M.A., B.Mus., Maurice, eldest son of Mr and Mrs I. Gaba, 17 Winchester Avenue, Cardiff, to Pauline, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Woolfson, 25 Kersland St., Glasgow, W. 2.[4]
- 1920-1940 - Valuation data shows that Joseph was a tenant in the house in Grant Street in 1920 and 1925. Meanwhile from 1930 to 1935 and 1940 he was registered as a tenant in 25 Kersland Street, listed as 'Govan' but being in the West End, two blocks east of the top of Byres Road.[5]
- 1935 - Dora Woolfson was registered as a tenant in a house in Rutherglen Road running alongside Richmond Park in the East end in 1935.[6]
- 1930 - Valuation records that Joseph Woolfson, 'merchant' is a tenant at 25 Kersland St.[7]
- 1925 - Valuation records that Joseph Woolfson, 'jeweller' is a tenant at 44 Grant St.[8]
- 1921 - In the 1921 census newly-weds Joseph (28) and Dora (23) lived at 44 Grant Street a six room house in Kelvingrove in the West End. Also living there was a 23 year old housemaid called Margaret McCloy born in Ballymoney in Antrim.
