Dame Denise Holt is a former diplomat with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and British ambassador in Mexico and Spain.

Career
After graduating from university, Holt joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as research analyst, working in a number of posts there, most notably, as personnel management in 1996, counsellor for Ireland in 1998, director of human resources in 1999 and director for migration and overseas territories in 2005.[1][2]
She also worked as the British ambassador in the British embassies in Mexico (2002-2005) and Spain (2007-2009)[1]
