The school was established in 1949 and amalgamated with Cassel Fox Infants School in the early 1980s. It serves a wide spectrum of Orthodox Jewish families in Salford and surrounding areas. Kodesh provision is about 40% of the timetable. A separately registered kindergarten / private nursery on site is not part of the academy inspection. A trading company, Broughton Jewish Services Limited (10627711), used the school address and was dissolved on 5 November 2024.[5][6]
Ofsted and Pikuach
Ofsted judged the academy Requires Improvement (June 2014) then Good (September 2016). A December 2022 section 8 inspection found it continued to be Good. A section 48 Pikuach inspection of Jewish education took place in November 2024 (chair David Bondt; headteacher Rabbi Yehuda Pearlman).[7][6][5]
Persons with significant control notified in January 2025 include Rabbi Avroham Jaffe (from 21 January 2025) and Dov Barry Black (from 14 January 2025).[1]
