Dame Anne Elisabeth Mueller (October 1930 – July 2000) was a senior British civil servant. The Guardian’s obituary called her "the most successful woman civil servant of her generation". She rose to be second permanent secretary in the Cabinet Office and then, from 1987 to 1990, at the Treasury.[1] Companies House records her as a former director of CARE International UK, a CSSF contractor, until 4 July 1999.[2]

Career

The Guardian says she joined the Ministry of Labour and National Service in 1953. She became an under-secretary at the Department of Industry in 1972 and a deputy secretary in 1977, leading its work on regional policy after 1979. In 1984 she moved to the Cabinet Office, "where she was responsible for the personnel management side of the civil service".[1]
