Alexander Denoon

Alexander James Tod Denoon (born 9 February 1970) is a lawyer and owner of the London-based law practice Lawford Davies Denoon.[1]

He is a director and trustee of the Science Media Centre.[2][3]

The Lawford Davies Denoon website describes his role as follows:

Alex advises clients in relation to the development of strategies for the protection, defence and commercialisation of intellectual property. This involves the development of strategies and the drafting of a wide array of commercial agreements from licences to joint ventures. Alex also advises in relation to the regulation of pharmaceuticals, medical devices and advanced therapy medicinal products.[4][5]

According to his LinkedIn page, his "groups and associations" include groups associated with stem cell research, gene therapy and intellectual property (patents): Cell Therapy Industry group, CellFate, ELSI Subgroup, and Intellectual Property Professionals.[6]


Denoon has a BSc in human genetics and from 1998-2001 was general counsel and company secretary of Biotech Australia.[7][8]

A ZoomInfo page of 2003 describes his duties at Biotech Australia:

While at Biotech Australia, his responsibilities included maintaining, managing and licensing the intellectual property of the entire portfolio that incorporated 20 different technologies covering human and animal health. Also, Denoon implemented the share and option plans for Biotech Australia, and the parent company Human Therapeutics Limited. While at Biotech Australia, Denoon conducted the initial public offering of the majority-owned subsidiary, Pi2 Limited. Associated with the float, Denoon established a corporate compliance program to reflect the greater level of reporting, disclosure and compliance generally associated with a public company.[9]
