Ahmed Syed

Dr Ahmed Syed is a Consultant in Public Health Medicine and Immunisation Co-ordinator of the Greater Glasgow NHS board. He is a member of Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI). He has received industrial support from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Aventis Pasteur MSD, Wyeth, Aventis and Sanofi Pasteur MSD for work related to Hepatitis b, HPV, seasonal flu, MMR and VC vaccines. He has contributed to immunisation educational meetings organised by GSK and Sanofi Pasteur MSD without accepting personal fees. Syed is on the the Editorial Board of a newsletter/journal "Vaccine in Practice" which is published by Hayward Medical Communications and funded by Wyeth. He has been a member of expert panels for Baxter Bioscience; GSK; Novartis; Sanofi Pasteur and Wyeth; and served on medical-scientific advisory panel for the Meningitis Trust and Meningitis Research Foundation.
