Adam Nathan Berkley

Adam Nathan Berkley (born July 1954) is a Scottish Zionist Chartered Accountant and property developer. He hails from the Glasgow based Berkley family whhich has been involved in both property and Zionist politics for many decades. Many family members have been or are involved in the property busienss formally via being directors of the many companies involved. Adam and his cousin Delia Lynn Berkley live very near to each other in expensive properties in Giffnock, G46.

Activities

UJIA event

Adam and Anita Berkley were present at the UJIA fundraising dinner in Glasgow in March 2011. The Jewish Chronicle reported:

Award-winning scientist and TV presenter Lord Winston spoke about the influence of Judaism on his life and career at the UJIA Scotland annual dinner this week. More than 250 guests from across the Glasgow community came to the sell-out event at the Giffnock and Newlands Synagogue’s banqueting suite raising £81,000 towards UJIA’s programmes for young people and education in the UK and northern Israel.^[1]

Chabad supporter

Around 500 people, 10% of the Glasgow Jewish community attended the eighth Lubavitch of Scotland Kosher Food and Wine Expo this past Sunday, organized by Shlucha Mrs. Sora Jacobs of Chabad of Scotland.

Many people were amazed that Lubavitch were able to attract numerous new people to the event, the first of which was held in 1973, in addition to the core of the community.

The event was opened by Adam and Anita Berkley, supporters of Lubavitch for many years, and Rabbi Moshe Rubin praised the work of Lubavitch and their drive to organise such an event to promote kashrus in the community.^[2]
