Steve Lipin is Senior Partner at Brunswick Group, a financial PR firm specializing in mergers. He was previously, as 'the M&A reporter at The Wall Street Journal.'[1] He is based in New York.

Wall Street Journal

While at the Wall Street Journal the Columbia Journalism Review named Lipin as one of 'The Shapers' the New York media 200 most influential people. 'Call him "the M&A King."', they reported in 2001.[2]

Enron

By November 2001 Lipin was working for Brunswick. In late November emails show he was advising Enron.[3]
