Pat Glass is the Labour MP for North West Durham. [1] She was elected at the 2010 general election in May with a majority of 7,612 votes. [2]

Glass is one of only five Labour members on the Education Select Committee and is said to be the lead opposition member. She is also vice-chair of the all-party parliamentary group for local democracy. [2]

Alongside her constituency role, Glass is parliamentary private secretary for MP Maria Eagle, when Maria was shadow secretary of state for the Department of Transport and, more recently, in her current role as shadow Secretary for the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs. [2]
