The Motorists Forum is a government advisory panel. It is decribed as an 'independent body'[1], which is part of The Commission for Integrated Transport (CfIT). It was launched in January 2000 'to advise on policy proposals affecting motorists'[2]. It describes its membership as including 'drivers, manufacturers, motoring organisations and managers of the road network'[3].

In 2005, the Motorists' Forum is reported to have produced a report calling for 'speed limits to be displayed in vehicles and an electronic system to automatically slow down speeding drivers'. I also advised that 'a government database could beam speed limits to drivers' and that 'aircraft-style "black boxes" in cars would provide crucial information about the cause of crashes'.
