The Modern Movement, now defunct, was associated with the libertarian anti-environmental LM network. It supported growth in air travel. Following a counter-demonstration by the Modern Movement at an airport expansion protest, one commentator observed "After just a cursory look around its website, it soon becomes apparent that the Modern Movement is yet another sanctuary (like Spiked, Living Marxism, Institute of Ideas, Manifesto Club etc etc) for the former members and ideological descendants of the Revolutionary Communist Party and their "the progress of mankind must never be interrupted or hindered, like, ever" views."" [1]

James Heartfield provided a link to photos of the Modern Movement demonstration in Parliament Square. [2]

A Modern Movement event was advertised on the Institute of Ideas website alongside other network entities [3], introduced by LM stalwart Austin Williams.

The movement was co-founded by LM associates Alex Hochuli [4] and Suzy Dean [5]. The committee included Institute of Ideas press officer Helen Birtwhistle.[6]

A report by an insider makes interesting reading.[7]
