Mike O'Brien was the Labour member of parliament for Warwickshire North between 1992 and 2010.
Career
O'Brien was the Labour member of parliament for Warwickshire North from 1992 to 2010. He won 46.1 percent in 1992, 58.4 percent in 1997, 54.1 percent in 2001 and 48.1 percent in 2005, before coming second to the Conservative's Dan Byles in 2010 by 0.1% after obtaining 40.1 percent of the vote.[1] Whilst in parliament he held the positions of parliamentary under-secretary at the Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office and minister of state at the Department of Trade and Industry, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Department for Work and Pensions, Department for Energy and Climate Change and the Department of Health.[2]
