Gordon Pell was appointed to the board of the Royal Bank of Scotland in 2000. He was formerly group director of Lloyds TSB UK Retail Banking before joining National Westminster Bank Plc as a director in February 2000 and then becoming executive chairman, Retail Banking. He is currently also a director of Race for Opportunity and a member of the National Employment Panel and the FSA Practitioner Panel. In July 2006, he was appointed chairman of the Business Commission on Racial Equality in the Workplace. [1]
