Crawford S. Gillies is Managing Director Europe, Bain & Company Inc. and was appointed a director of Standard Life Assurance in January 2007.
From a biographical note on the Scottish Development International web site, where he is a member of the International Advisory Board:
- He has worked at board level with clients in the UK, Europe and North America on strategy, acquisitions, performance improvement and organisational change. His experience covers business services, oil & gas, utilities, engineering, building products, financial services, consumer goods and retail.
- Previously, he worked at Reed International plc and with accountants Peat Marwick & Mitchell. An Edinburgh University law graduate, he earned an MBA with highest honours from Harvard Business School.
- Crawford is a member of the DTI Executive Board, a member of the London Committee of the Scottish Council for Development and Industry and a trustee of the Scottish Council Foundation "think tank". He was formerly Chairman of CBI London.
