Crawford Beveridge Executive Vice President, People & Places and Chief Human Resources Officer, Sun Microsystems Inc.. Crawford was Chief Executive of Scottish Enterprise for nine years to 2000. He is now responsible for driving leading-edge human resource programmes as a member of Sun Microsystems’s executive committee.

Born in Edinburgh in 1945, he graduated from Edinburgh University and has an MSc in Industrial Administration from Bradford University Management Centre.

In 1968 he joined Hewlett-Packard at South Queensferry and worked with the company until 1977 in a variety of posts in Geneva, California, and Oregon. He returned to Switzerland to help set up Digital Equipment Corporation’s European manufacturing sites and later as European Personnel Director.

In 1982, he became vice president of Human Resources at Analog Devices in Boston. Three years later he joined Sun Microsystems as vice president of Corporate Resources. He is a Board Member of Autodesk Inc.
