The American Zionist Council (AZC) was established 1949. It was the successor to the American Zionist Emergency Council.[1] It was the parent organization of AIPAC. In 1970 it changed its name again to the American Zionist Federation (May 1970) and became the American Zionist Movement in 1993 - the umbrella organisation for American Zionist organisations.[2]
