The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Water Safety and Drowning Prevention was formed in 2014, with the aim:

'To raise awareness of the issue of death by drowning in the UK and to provide a forum for discussion on water safety related issues.'[1]

Background

The Royal Life Saving Society UK was integral to establishing the all party group, providing the secretariat to the group and informing MPs who are concerned with preventing death by drowning and keeping people by the water safe. In 2014, 381 died from drowning and many more from related injuries. The group will aim to teach people personal survival, basic water rescue skills and safety education.

Brevia Consulting is financed by the Royal Life Saving Society UK to perform the group's secretariat function, managing the groups activities and helping to administer affairs on a day to day basis.

Registered benefits

By June 2015, the Royal Life Saving Society UK had paid (in bands of £1.500) £16,501-£18,000 to Brevia in benefits. [1]
