Professor Rothwell is Vice President for Research at The University of Manchester and holds an MRC Research Chair in Physiology at the Faculty of Life Sciences and a non-executive director of AstraZeneca. She chairs a variety of committees, including the Research Defence Society and the Wellcome Trust Public Engagement Strategy Committee, is a Council member of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), and has a strong interest in discussing science with non-scientists and children.[1]
