Philip Carmichael
Philip Carmichael is on the Board of Directors of Fusion Systems and Asia & Business Operations Manager, Longreach Venture Capital
Carmichael recently parted company with Lexmark International. Until very recently he was President of Lexmark Asia and a Lexmark Vice President. Tokyo based, he was responsible for all of the company’s strategic and operational performance in 22 Asian countries, running Australia and Japan.
He is currently is involved with providing operational and execution support to a venture capital firm based in Asia (Longreach) and an outside Director of Fusion Systems, an IT outsourcing company specialized in providing full IT support to Fortune 500 companies active in China.
Having lived in Asia for 25 years he is a fluent Mandarin speaker and has spent his career helping US high technology companies develop sustainable business in the Asian region.
Before joining Lexmark, he was Vice President and Regional Director for Asia at Rockwell International, a global electronic control and communications company. From 1991 to 1996 he was President of EG&G Services Ltd, a major scientific instrumentation, high technology equipment and components manufacturer. In his five-year tenure, he started two high-technology manufacturing joint ventures and initiated the first private enterprise acquisition by a foreign company. He holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Management from the University of Maryland Far East Division, and attended the University of Chicago 190 MBA program from 1996 to 1997. Among other interests, he is on the Board of Governors, Project HOPE HK Foundations, a U.S. based Charity providing assistance in 100 countries[1].
