A biographical note in 1999 states:

Bill Jamieson is the Economics Editor of the sunday Telegraph and has published numerous books and papers... A financial and busines journalist for 25 years, his work has taken him to developed and emerging economies round the world. He is a member of the Economic Research Council, the David Hume Institute and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.^[1]
