The Army says its headquarters is in Edinburgh, with sub-units and detachments in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Gateshead, Leeds and Nottingham, and places it under the operational command of the 1st Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Brigade.[1]
According to the Army, the battalion recruits and trains Military Intelligence soldiers and officers for operations, and "using advanced military IT systems at our bases, we have the capability to conduct real-time intelligence work during training nights and weekends".[1]
