ETSC, established in 1993, claims to be an independent non-profitmaking organisation dedicated to the reduction of the number and severity of transport crash injuries in Europe. The organisation provides the European Commission, European Parliament and the member states with expert and impartial advice on issues related to transport and road safety. ETSC's work is funded by members, through projects co-funded by the European Commission, and private sector sponsorship [1].
