Controversies and conflicts
- Solev Co and Hatzlocho inquiries: The Charity Commission opened statutory inquiries into Solev Co Limited (13 December 2024) and Hatzlocho Limited (19 December 2024). They cover related-party transactions, conflicts of interest ("the trustees were, until recently, all part of the same family") and late accounts. The Commission stated that opening an inquiry "is not a finding of wrongdoing".[10] Companies House records him as a director of Solev Co from 2005 to 17 January 2025, so he was in post when the Solev inquiry opened. Jewish News reported his resignation in January 2025.[11]
In the news
- In December 2024 the Charity Commission opened statutory inquiries into Solev Co Limited (13 December) and Hatzlocho Limited (19 December), as reported in February 2025. The concerns were related-party transactions, the management of conflicts of interest (the former trustees were all from one family) and accounts and annual returns that had not been filed on time. Civil Society reported that, according to Companies House, Joseph Tager and Simon Tager had resigned as directors of Solev Co the previous month. The reports make no finding against him personally.[12]
