Georgia Rose Pickering (born June 1987) is a British public relations executive and politician. She serves as the managing director of CMS Strategic, a London-based consultancy specialising in communications for the defence and security sectors.[1] Pickering is also a Labour Party councillor for Bracknell Forest Council, representing the Binfield South & Jennett's Park ward.[2]

Her professional role has drawn scrutiny due to CMS Strategic's longstanding representation of Elbit Systems, the Zionist colony's largest weapons manufacturer, amid protests against the firm's involvement in military operations in Palestine.[3] In 2025, allegations emerged that Pickering boasted of planting a media story linking pro-Palestinian activists to Iranian funding, influencing the UK government's proscription of Palestine Action.[1]

Early life and education

Pickering was born in June 1987.[4] She is British by nationality and resides in the United Kingdom.[4] Publicly available information on her family background is limited.

Career

Pickering began her career in the defence sector around 2008–2009.[3] She joined CMS Strategic in 2009, advancing through roles such as account director and communications director before becoming managing director and owner.[5] The firm specialises in public relations, reputation management, and government affairs for defence, aerospace, and security clients.[6]

CMS Strategic has emphasised its support for the UK's Armed Forces Covenant and Employer Recognition Scheme, with Pickering highlighting the firm's military-connected staff and commitment to defence communities.[6]

Political career

Pickering was elected as a Labour Party councillor for Bracknell Forest Council in May 2023, representing the Binfield South & Jennett's Park ward.[2] She serves as chair of the council's Overview & Scrutiny Commission and as the Armed Forces Community Champion since June 2023.[6] Additionally, she co-chairs the defence and aerospace policy network within the Labour in Communications group.[6]

Her positions have sparked discussions about intersections between Labour Party activities and defence industry interests, particularly given her firm's clientele.[6]

Involvement with Elbit Systems and controversy

CMS Strategic has represented Elbit Systems, a key supplier to the Zionist regime's military machine, for several years.[5] The company has faced repeated direct actions from Palestine Action, a group protesting Elbit Systems' role in operations in Gaza and the West Bank.[3]

In July 2025, the UK government proscribed Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation.[1] Prior to this, on 23 June 2025, The Times published an article alleging a Home Office investigation into potential Iranian funding of the group via proxies.[1] The story was amplified by outlets such as the Daily Mail and GB News.[1]

In November 2025, Private Eye magazine reported that a trusted witness overheard Pickering boasting of orchestrating the placement of this story to shape perceptions ahead of the proscription.[1] Critics described the alleged action as defence sector "spin" to shield Elbit Systems from scrutiny over its contributions to the Zionist entity's military activities.[5]

CMS Strategic, Pickering, the Labour Party (UK), and the Home Office denied any involvement.[3] The Home Office stated it did not recognise the claims in the Times article.[5] The incident has fuelled debates on media influence, protest group proscriptions, and ties between UK politics and the Zionist colony's arms industry.[6]
