Michale C. Gelman is the Chairma of The Israel Project. According to his bio on ITP's website:
- Michael C. Gelman recently completed three terms as president of The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington and one term as the President of its Endowment Fund. During his term as Federation's President, he and his team twice won the prestigious Sapir Award from United Jewish Communities for major increases in campaigns. Mr. Gelman is chairman of the United Jewish Communities Human Services and Social Policy Pillar and he chairs the UJC Birthright Committee. He was also co-chair of the 2003 General Assembly in Jerusalem. Gelman was appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council by President Clinton in 1995 and was a member of the Executive Committee. He has also chaired the Council's Ad Hoc Committee on Governance, Investment Committee and Development Committee. He was appointed by Maryland Governor Glendening to serve on the University System of Maryland Board of Regents. Mr. Gelman also sits on the boards of several organizations including the Jewish Agency for Israel, for which he chairs the Aliyah and Klitah Budget Subcommittee. He is president of Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman, an accounting firm located in Bethesda, Maryland, and is a member of the Congressional Bank Board of Directors [1]
