The Eranda Foundation is a charitable trust founded in 1967, by Sir Evelyn de Rothschild, that awards philanthropic donations to various charitable causes.[1][2]

The foundation is a patron of the University of Buckingham, meaning it has donated over £100,000 to the UK's only privately funded university.[3]. The foundation also founds the Lady Lynn Joyful Home school[4]

The foundation has close links to Evelyn de Rothschild and provides funding for the Sir Evelyn de Rothschild Professorship of Finance at Cambridge University's Judge Business School, a professorship that focuses on venture capital[5]. Another programme at Cambridge University is described as being funded by Sir Evelyn de Rothschild and Lady Lynn de Rothschild through the Eranda Foundation.[6]

Mission

The Eranda Foundation was established 'to champion education, healthcare and social welfare' [7], and provides funding for 'original research and the continuation of existing research into medicine and scientific education', 'encouraging the arts, primarily education and outreach work', and supporting social welfare [8].

Activities

The foundation distributes £4m to £5m a year, the majority to charities in the UK. [8]
