Myron Zimmerman
Myron Zimmerman is the founder of the MZ Foundation.
On December 8, 2013, the pro-Israel group StandWithUs honored the San Francisco Bay Area entrepreneur and philanthropist as part of its annual Festival of Lights gala. The event, which recognized Zimmerman’s financial contributions to the organization, took place at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel. Attendees included Las Vegas casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Bret Stephens of the Wall Street Journal and David Siegel, Israeli consul general in Los Angeles. The article reporting on it read: 'Zimmerman [..]has made invaluable contributions to StandWithUs, funding programs that, among other things, have put “a human face on the [Israel Defense Forces],” said the organization’s CEO, Roz Rothstein'. The event was a way to celebrate those contributions, but also helped StandWithUs raise money for the coming year. This year, it brought in approximately $2.5 million to support 2014 programming, Rothstein said. The event was sponsored by Bruce Lederman and Ellie Lederman, and Debbie Saidoff and Naty Saidoff. Comedian Elon Gold served as emcee, and musicians Ari Lesser and Ronny Weinreich performed. [1]
In January 2014, he was introduced by Mort Klein from the Zionist Organisation of America, as one of the major funders of pro-Israel groups against 'the Arab War on Israel', as he gave him the 'ZOA Lewis Brandice Award for Outstanding Work of Behalf of Our People and Our Ancient Homeland'. [2]
The MZ foundation has given a range of grants to counterjihad groups in the US, including Pamela Geller's American Freedom Defense Initiative.
