One Law For All
One Law for All is a campaign against Sharia law in Britain which was launched in December 2008 at the House of Lords. The campaign seeks to end the use and institutionalisation of Sharia and all religious laws, and defends universal rights and secularism. It calls upon the British Government to recognise that Sharia Councils are discriminatory, especially towards women and children, and advocates one secular law for all.[1] The official spokesperson for the campaign is Maryam Namazie.[2]

Activities
One Law for All has created a petition demanding that UK law be amended so that all religious tribunals are banned from operating within and outside of the legal system. As of 6 May 2016, the petition has received 31,402 signatures.[3]
On 1 June 2015 One Law for All reported that it has no links with Anne Marie Waters (former co-spokesman for the campaign until November 2013) or her organisation, Sharia Watch. Waters' resignation was partially attributed to One Law for All’s refusal to collaborate with the members of racist and far-Right groups. Commenting on the issue, Maryam Namazie wrote:
- We want to make very clear that we have no links with Sharia Watch, UKIP or Anne Marie Waters and will oppose their brand of racist hate politics every step of the way... As is very clear from our work, our fight is not just a fight against Sharia; it is first and foremost a fight against Islamism and the religious-Right as well as countering racism and for equality, universal and citizenship rights, international solidarity, and secularism.[4]
