John Penrose

John Penrose has been the Conservative Party MP for Weston-Super-Mare since 2005. In the 2015 general election, Penrose was re-elected with a majority of 15,609. [1]
Penrose was a parliamentary under-secretary (Department for Culture, Media and Sport) from 2010 to 2012. He was appointed an assistant whip (HM Treasury) in 2013.[2]
As of May 2015, he was appointed to Parliamentary Secretary to the Cabinet Office, as a Minister for Constitutional Reform. His role will oversee, among other things, elections and electoral registration, constituency boundaries and political parties and referendum policy.[3]
