Laura Trott
Laura Trott is a political adviser to David Cameron on women, education and childcare. She is one of just three women in a 26-strong newly reshaped Downing Street operation. [1]
She has previously held the role of chief of staff to minister for the Cabinet Office and paymaster general Francis Maude.[2]
Background
In addition to her role as special adviser, Trott is a Conservative councillor in the Frognal and Fitzjohns ward of Camden Council, London.[3] In the May 2010 election, she came second with 2490 votes (17.62% of votes cast).[4] Being "ushered into the Conservatives’ safest ward", Trott is reportedly "highly regarded".[5]
Trott was also a political adviser to the Conservative Party, as part of the Party's Implementation Team. Previous to this, she worked at Booz & Company as a strategy consultant. [6]
Education
Gained a Bachelor's degree in History and Economics from Oxford University
