Mary MacLeod MP is the private parliamentary secretary to Maria Miller, the UK Culture Secretary.
In April 2014 she defended a text message she had sent to backbenchers that claimed the culture secretary was victim of a "witch-hunt" over her expenses.
In an interview with Sky News, MacLeod admitted sending a message Conservative MPs that said: "I believe there is a media witch-hunt on Maria due to Leveson.
