Edward Sykes
Edward (Ed) Sykes is the Head of Mental Health and Neuroscience at the Science Media Centre.[1]

Education
Sykes studied Zoology at the University of Sheffield and has a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of Edinburgh.[2]
Career
Scottish Initiative for Biotechnology Education
Prior to joining the Science Media Centre, Sykes was a Science Communicator with the Scottish Initiative for Biotechnology Education (SIBE) based at the University of Edinburgh.[3]
Science Media Centre
Sykes has been Head of Mental Health and Neuroscience at the Science Media Centre since early 2013.[4] He originally joined the organisation in 2008 as a Press Officer.[5] In February 2001 he was replaced by Jonathan Webb for the duration of his sabbatical with the Australian Science Media Centre.[6]
Australian Science Media Centre
Sykes had a 15-month sabbatical as a Media Manager with the Australian Science Media Centre ending in early 2013.[4]
