George Williams
Lt-Col George Williams was one of 25 people killed in the 1994 Mull of Kintyre Chinook crash. A member of the Intelligence Corps, he was serving in HQ Northern Ireland at the time of his death.[1] Given his rank, activities and subsequent death, Williams was probably the officer referred to by the cypher A/16 in the De Silva report on the murder of Pat Finucane.[2]
Williams was reportedly an army contact of agent Sam Rosenfeld. After Rosenfeld was arrested by the RUC in June 1992, he phoned Williams to secure his release.[3]
