Tamares Ltd
Tamares Ltd is a British registered company.[1]
As of 2010, the company was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tamco Industries Limited, a company registered in Gibraltar. The ultimate controlling parties were the trustees of the Shlomo Zabludowicz Settlement, a Gibraltar Trust administered in Gibraltar.[2]
Richard Perle payments
The New York Times reported in 1983 that Tamares Ltd was the vehicle for controversial payments to Richard Perle to help Zabludowicz companies win US defence contracts, some of which Perle received after joining the Pentagon:
- The $140,000 in payments to Mr. Perle and Abington were channeled through Tamares. The company's certified annual report filed in London shows Tamares to be a tiny, unprofitable company, with total assets of less than $25,000 and sales of $250,000 for the year ended May 1982. Mr. Spiegel said the consulting fees originated with other Zabludowicz companies, although Mr. Perle reported receiving the $50,000 from Tamares.[3]
