Operation Crevice was the codename given to the biggest Metropolitan Police anti-terrorist operation ever conducted in the United Kingdom. It was executed on 30 March 2004 and is sometimes referred to as the fertiliser plot or the the fertiliser bomb plot.The plot was understood to be an Al-Qaeda operation that was ordered by 'senior al-Qaeda figures in Pakistan and Afghanistan,'[1] which aimed to bomb a series of targets in the United Kingdom. The ringleader and commander of the plot was Omar Khyam of Crawly.
