Menorah Foundation School is a voluntary aided Orthodox Jewish primary school in Edgware, London.[1] It is financially supported by the Menorah Foundation charity (registered number 1044649).[2]

The school is affiliated with the Menorah Foundation charity, which provides financial support to advance Orthodox Jewish education including at the school, and with the London Borough of Barnet as its local authority and maintaining body for the voluntary aided school.[2][1] It participates in the Etgar Jewish knowledge challenge, which includes content on Israel.[3] No other formal affiliations with specific groups are recorded in public sources.

Ethos and values

The school's motto is Torah im Derech Eretz. Its vision states that pupils should realise "our sacred religions, ethical and moral principles apply to whatever topic is being studied in every walk of life so that they are fully prepared for their future lives as Orthodox Jews within a secular integrated society."[4]

The school describes itself as: "We are a welcoming, co-educational school, imbuing our pupils with a love of Torah and Eretz Yisroel, and promoting British values."[4]

As a result of time at the school, pupils will "Have developed a love of Eretz Yisroel."[4]

Israel and Zionism

The school does not use the term "Zionism" in its public materials. It states the exact words: "imbuing our pupils with a love of Torah and Eretz Yisroel" and that pupils will "Have developed a love of Eretz Yisroel."[4] These phrases appear in the core ethos and impact statements on the school's vision page.

The headteacher is Mrs Holli Hunter.
