Ovo Energy is a UK based energy supplier with offices in Bristol and London. They were founded by former financial trader Stephen Fitzpatrick and began trading in 2009.
Ovo were set up to rival the 'Big Six' energy companies (Centrica-owned BG Group, EDF Energy, npower, E.ON, Scottish Power, and SSE), who Fitzpatrick believed had got too expensive.[1] In October 2013 Fitzpatrick spoke to the Energy and Climate Change Committee and criticised the Big Six for their rising prices, saying the wholesale cost had in fact got cheaper.[2]
