Claire MacAleese is a former special adviser to the Labour Party who now works at Cogitamus. MacAleese joined Cogitamus in 2010, a public affairs and communications business. [1] Its a lobbying firm which specialises in consultancy on matters relating to transport, logistics, environmental, infrastructure and construction.

Background

MacAleese was special adviser to two Transport Secretaries. During her time in the Department for Transport, she provided strategic communications, media and policy handling for Ministers, as well as managing relationships with broadcast media, national print and trade journalists, trade unionists and MPs. [2]

Prior to this she was the head of external affairs with helicopter manufacturer AgustaWestland, a role which meant she was responsible for UK communications and external relations.

Earlier in her career MacAleese worked for Labour Party Head Office, initially developing relationships with the Party’s professional and business endorsers, before working in events and as advance during the 2005 General Election. [2]
