James Tooley

James Tooley is the director of the E.G. West Centre at the University of Newcastle and a member of the academic advisory board of the Taxpayers' Alliance.[1] He has also been the professor of education policy at the University of Newcastle since 1998.
Background
Tooley has been working in the field of education for over 25 years beginning with a teaching post in Zimbabwe after he left university. According to his E.G. West Centre biography he 'works to assist in improving entrepreneurs' access to loans and improvement of the curriculum for budget private schools' and 'to bring private schools for low income families to the top of the agenda when discussing Education for All'.[2]
