Freud Communications
Freud Communications Limited is a PR company with offices in London, New York and Los Angeles. It was founded in July 3 1990 by Matthew Freud. It was previously known as Jaystone PLC.
History
- The company was founded in 1990
- In 1994, Freud Communications was sold to Abbott Mead Vickers (AMV) for a reported £10m
- In 2001 Matthew Freud bought Freud Communications back after AMV was taken over by Omnicom [1]
- In 2005, Freud Communications was sold to the Publicis Groupe
- In 2007 Freud Communications acquired the advertising firm DFGW
Advertising
In 2007 Freud Communications acquired the advertising firm DFGW. Freud was understood to have paid a negligible amount for the agency. Under the terms of the deal, DFGW will be absorbed into Freud and will move its 12-strong team from London's High Holborn to Freud's offices in Mortimer Street. The agency will trade as Freud Communications. [2]
Publicis Groupe
In 2005 Freud Communications became part of the Publicis Groupe[3] The Publicis Groupe bought 50.1% of the company. It is thought the deal was worth around £35 million of which £14m went to Matthew Freud. Freud is believed to have retained around two-thirds of the 49.9% not owned by Publicis.[4].

Clients
- UK Department of Health - Change4Life anti-obesity campaign. Coalition government documents released showed this work brought in monthly fees between £40,000 - 45,000 for May - September 2010 via Central Office of Information. Change4Life will run until at least March 2011, with the fees expected to remain in this range. [6]
