LEP was formed in 2004 by the Mayor of London to work with energy companies, councils, and energy saving/ sustainable energy organisations to promote a more 'sustainable energy future' for London.[1]

Funding
The Greater London Authority, the London Development Agency, and Argent Group Plc currently provide core funding for the London Energy Partnership. Additionally, British Gas is sponsoring their 2008 Forum event.[2]
