Background
- Alex provides strategic advice to a range of clients in the technology, infrastructure, energy, higher education and financial services sectors. Alex has been at the heart of key policy discussions for more than a decade. He ran Localis – the foremost think tank on issues related to devolution and local government – for six years, before which he developed the Conservative Party’s thinking on devolution, local government, housing and planning, and wrote the Party’s Green Papers Control Shift, Strong Foundations and Open Source Planning. He was also part of Boris Johnson’s successful 2008 Mayoral campaign team. Prior to working for the Conservatives, Alex was a civil servant in various Whitehall departments including DCLG and DEFRA.
