Wilf Stevenson
Wilf Stevenson is a former special adviser to the Labour Party who is now a Labour frontbench spokesperson for Department for Culture, Media and Sport, higher education and trade matters in the House of Lords. He is also a whip for the Department for Business Innovation & Skills.
Stevenson joined the Lords as a life peer in 2010. [1]
Prior to being appointed to the Lords, Stevenson spent two years as a special adviser to the Prime Minister, working mainly on constitutional issues in the policy unit, 10 Downing Street.
Stevenson was previously the director of the Smith Institute (an independent think tank) for 11 years. Before establishing the Smith Institute, Stevenson was director of the British Film Institute (BFI) (1987-97), joining the BFI from what is now Edinburgh Napier University. [1]
