M Communications was formed by Nick Miles, the former managing director of Financial Dynamics's after his "acrimonious split" from the company. In 2004 it won the Polygon account. (The Daily Telegraph, August 20, 2004)
The agency's Middle Eastern section was bought out by College Group after 2008.
Nick Miles left M Communications in March 2013.
In late 2013, M Communications shut down after senior staff, including founders Miles and Hugh Morrison, walked out over "dissatisfaction with the value of equity incentives".<ref> Alec Mattinson M:Communications to close its doors 'within weeks' PR Week, 5 August 2013, accessed 24 October 2014 Cite error: The opening <ref>
