Janet Cohen is a Labour peer in the House of Lords and a former BBC governor (1994-99). She was raised to the peerage as Baroness Cohen of Pimlico, in the City of Westminster in 2000.
Activities
Cohen is a non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange (LSE plc) and of the Borsa Italiana SpA (Italy's main stock exchange).
She is also a senior adviser to BPP Holdings Ltd (provider of professional and academic education).[1]
In an investigation into the interests of members of the House Lords by the Wall Street Journal, Cohen was asked about her role with the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana SpA. She said she ended her time with the LSE in 2013 and left her position with Borsa Italiana in July 2014, saying "I am no longer involved in any way with any company having to do with provision of financial services."[2]
