The Cooler Heads Coalition was formed on May 6, 1997, "to dispel the myths of global warming by exposing flawed economic, scientific and risk analysis[1]." It runs the web-site golbalwarming.org, that is paid for and maintained by Consumer Alert, whose Director Fran Smith sits on the CEI Board and who is the wife of Fred Smith, the President of CEI. Myron Ebell, is one of the most important climate sceptics in the UK, who chairs the Cooler Head s Coalition. He has close ties to industry and spoke at Exxon’s 2002 shareholders' meeting,[2] and apparently has close ties to former Rep. David McIntosh of Indiana, a long-time opponent of clean-air controls.[3]
