Background

EDF energy is a wholly owned subsidiary of EDF group. one of the kargest energy groups in Europe, who recently acquired British Energy making it one of the world's biggest. EDF generates between 6% and 12% of the UK's energy (figues vary on their webpage) from coal, gas, nuclear and wind. "Its EBITDA in 2007 was €15.2 billion. The net income (Group share) was €5.6 billion (+10.6%). R&D budget in 2007 amounted to €375 million." [1]
