Doyle got his break into stories on 'terrorism' when he covered the attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. He notes that at the tie he was 'an ambitious reporter for a construction magazine' in the UK.[4] The magazine was Contract Journal published by Reed Business Information Ltd. Doyle worked there until 1998.
