The European Research Advisory Board (ERAB) established in 2003 claims to be "an independent European alcohol research foundation" [1]. ERAB was established to fund biomedical and psychosocial research into beer and other alcoholic drinks. The research group is funded by The Brewers of Europe one of the most powerful alcohol industry lobbies who represent over 90% of European beer production. According to their website:
- Independence is guaranteed by a board of directors made up of a majority of independent members. The Foundation has an Advisory Board with a proven international scientific reputation. [2]
