Raymond Georis 'received his Doctorate in Law (1954) from the University of Louvain. He also received from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium) a diploma in economic and political sciences in 1957'.[1]
- Secretary General of the European Cultural Foundation in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from 1973 to 1995.
- founding chairman of the European Foundation Centre in Brussels and
- the chairman of the Hague Club of European Foundations.
- currently the Managing Director of Madariaga European Foundation from July 2004 having been the treasurer.
- Before that he was the Managing Director of the Network of European Foundations for Innovative Cooperation (NEF).
- European Research Advisory Board, Chair of the Board of Directors[2]
- Vice-Chairman of the European Citizen Action Service (ECAS), an independent organization working to empower civil society with the European Union by providing advice on how to lobby, fundraise, and defend European citizenship rights.
- Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the East-West Parliamentary Practice Project (EWPPP), founded in 1990 with the aim of providing support for parliaments in the newly emerging democracies in Central Europe and the former Soviet Union.
